C. Thurman “Toad” Brien was born on April 23, 1917 in Masham Oklahoma to Arthur Herman Brien and Faye Alta Lockwood Brien. He passed from this life on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 in Masham Oklahoma having reached the age of 95 years, 10 months, and 3 days. He was one of eleven children, and during his childhood he obtained the nickname of “Toad”. He married Mary A. LeForce in Pawnee on December 1, 1938, and she preceded him in death on November 20, 1994. He remained on the farm Northwest of Pawnee growing his prized watermelons, and sharing his love of fishing with his special friend, Wilma Holbrook of Stillwater. It breaks our hearts to lose him, but he will always be a part of us. Toad is survived by: 2 Daughters:Mona Stieber & her husband, Howard, Masham, Oklahoma Martha Fielder & her husband, Mark, Canadian, Oklahoma Grandchildren:Patsy Feaster, Ponca City, Oklahoma Robert Feaster & his wife, Linda, Ponca City Cheryl Hill & her husband, Mark, Ponca City Steven Creager & his wife, Juli, Pawnee 9 Great Grandchildren:Alex Feaster, Michael Gunnerson, Tyler & Ryan Feaster, Misty Hill, Tonya Miller, and Trevor Hill all of Ponca City Chase & Kaitlyn Creager, Pawnee Brother:Lynn Brien, Pawnee 3 Sisters:Rosa Jestes, Betty Jo Tatum & Roberta Tucker, Pawnee Plus a number of other relatives, and many friends. Besides his wife, Mary, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Gary Dean Creager; his parents, Arthur & Faye Brien; four brothers, Jack, James, George & Robert Brien; and two sisters, Beulah Ball and Katherine Grote. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 1, 2013 at Poteet Funeral Chapel, Pawnee, Oklahoma, with Rev. Michael Brien and Rev. Darrel Brien officiating. Interment will be at Masham Cemetery, Masham, Oklahoma, under the direction of Poteet Funeral Home, Pawnee, Oklahoma.
