Tommie Ann Baker

Tommie Ann Baker was born July 7, 1948, in Hominy, Oklahoma to John Henry and T. Rebecca Padgett. She grew up with her three sisters: Johnnie Jo, Bobbie, and Robbie. Tommie graduated high school in 1966 from Hominy, Oklahoma. She then went on to trade school where she learned to be a hairdresser, she also earned an associate degree in science to become a medical assistant, but being a hairdresser was always her passion.

Tommie greatest passion was being a mom. She lived to care for her family. The love of her life was Gerald Dykes, together they raised four wonderful children. Tommie was very passionate about playing the piano, singing, praying, and writing poetry. She was a published poet; having her poem in the “World Book of Poetry.”

Tommie always took time with her grandchildren, teaching them the piano and singing. Then they would all sing songs and enjoy those special times together. The family loved to get together and enjoy one of Tommie’s delicious meals, what a cook she was. She had a huge heart and loved to talk about Jesus.

Tommie Ann Baker passed from this life on April 26, 2024, at the Green Country Care Center in Tulsa and will be missed by all who loved and cared for her.
