Velma Lou Berg Buntin, 83, of Olathe, Kansas., passed away Monday, March 10, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Springhill, Kansas. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Eshelman Memorial Chapel, Highland Cemetery, Pawnee, Oklahoma.
Velma was born October 24, 1930 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Elmer and Lela Berg. She graduated from Pawnee High School in 1949 where she was proud to have been a member of the PHS Band. She was a member of the 1st Southern Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas, and enjoyed working on family genealogy, camping and playing the piano. She was active in many civic groups including the Christian Woman's Organization from Olathe, Kansas.
Velma is survived by her children: Debra Bryant, Nancy Haney, and her husband, Steve, and Louis Buntin, Jr. and his wife, Sandra. Also surviving are her grandchildren; James, Marade, Brandon, Conrad, and Brian, and great grandchildren Ian, Avery, Liam, Shelby, Cooper, Rylan, and Czarina. She is also survived by her sister Arlen Cartmell and her husband, Richard.
Velma was preceded in death by her husband Louis E. Buntin, Sr. in 2006 as well as her parents Elmer and Lela Berg, and siblings Clarence Berg, Viola (Stecker) Logsdon, Olan Berg, Leona Weaver, and Boyd Berg.
