William (Willie) Francis Rogers Obituary William (Willie) Francis Rogers, age 88, of Wynona, Oklahoma passed away February 8, 2009 at his residence. Willie was born December 16, 1920 to William Joseph and Rebecca (Bray) Rogers at St. Joe, Arkansas. Willie married Eddyth Lay April 18, 1942. To this union was born William Phillip Rogers and Quintin Ray Rogers. Willie was a veteran of the Army Air Force stationed in England from 1942-1945 during WWII. Willie and his family moved to Oklahoma in 1952. He was employed by the Wildhorse School as bus driver and maintenance person for three years; he was also employed by the Pioneer Store in Hominy. He became self-employed and retired from his Gibble Gas service station in 1987. Willie liked to fish and raise gardens. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wynona, Oklahoma. Willie is survived by his wife Eddyth Rogers of the home; his sons and their wives- Phillip and Cricket Rogers of Twin Oaks, Oklahoma; Quintin and Evelyn Rogers of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; two brothers- Oris and wife Dottie Rogers of Denton, Texas; Cecil and wife Muriel Rogers of Lubbock, Texas; one sister- Ida Wilhite of Amarillo, Texas and many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and nine brothers and sisters. Funeral Services were Thursday, February 12, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church, Wynona, Oklahoma with Pastor David Boyer, Pastor Bill Lay and Pastor Heath Rogers officiating. Music was by James Jackson, Paul Fisher, David Boyer and Jackie Henley. Casket bearers were Keith Henley, Dare Yarbrough, Jack Henley, Heath Rogers, Michael Berg, Barry Jarnigan and honorary casket bearer Jason Morris. Interment at the Prairie View Cemetery in Prue, Oklahoma with Military Honors. Arrangements were made with Powell Funeral Home, Hominy, Oklahoma.
