Zoe Spears Hoobler

Zoe Louise Spears Hoobler was born on November 28, 1927 to Richard Huston Spears and Dan Viola Lytle Spears. She was born on the family farm in the rural Blackburn area, where she attended Blackburn Schools. She passed from this life on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 in Edmond, Oklahoma having reached the age of 86 years, 10 months, and 24 days. She married Harold Marion Hoobler in 1946, and they farmed in the Skedee-Blackburn Community for about ten years before moving to Pawnee in 1956. Harold preceded her in death on July 7, 2010. During her life she worked part-time, was a homemaker, and a good Mother. She loved most of all, her family, friends, and taking care of her flowers. Zoe is survived by her son, Dwight Hoobler, Pawnee; sister, Mary Bode, Cleveland, and sister-in-law, Shirley Spears, Stillwater, plus many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Besides her husband, Harold, she was preceded in death by her son, Victor Hoobler; two sisters, Pearl Swanson and Ima Hagle; and three brothers, Darrell Spears, Glen Spears, and Lonnie Spears. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 27, 2014 at Poteet Funeral Chapel, Pawnee, with Rev. Chan Ray officiating. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery, Pawnee, Oklahoma.
